How to Create and Set up Amazon KDP Account in 3 Steps
Setting up your Amazon KDP account is the first step in Book publishing. Creating an account is very easy. You can set up your account within minutes and upload your book. It is not that difficult to do.
In this article, I will guide you through a step-by-step approach to setting up your Amazon KDP account.

How to Write an Ebook and Publish It in Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing
Now that you have finished writing your book. I hope you have edited the book, formatted your book, and designed a unique Kindle cover for your book.
If you have not done that, you can check my guide on how to edit your book. If you don’t have a cover yet, don’t worry, you can design your cover on Amazon. Amazon has a wonderful book cover creator, which you can use to create your book cover within minutes.
Since everything is ready, let’s go through a step-by-step guide on how to create your Amazon KDP account.
Steps in creating an Amazon Kdp account
Open your browser. Any browser is OK.
In your browser, type in kdp.amazon.com. You will see the page below
Click on “Sign Up.” You will be taken to a page where you will fill in your name, email, and password.
After that, go to your email and confirm your email address.
Once you have confirmed your email address, go back to Amazon KDP and sign in.
Locate your account at the top right corner of the browser.
Click on it, and you will be redirected to your account page.
On your account page, you will see three categories where you will add your Amazon Kdp account information;
Author/ Publisher information
It is where you put in your details. You will be asked to enter your name, country, phone number, etc. Input your correct information.
NOTE: Your name in your author-publisher information differs from your pen name. But you can still use the same name as a pen name.
Getting Paid (Payment information)
It is where you put in your payment information. Amazon uses two types of accounts for its electronic transfer – Checking and saving accounts. You can choose anyone you have. For international payments, it is mostly a checking account.
If you reside in countries that don’t support amazon electronic payment, you can use Payoneer to receive amazon royalty. Once you are done, click Add, and your payment details will be added.
Tax Information
Fill in your tax details. In your tax interview, specify your tax classification, specify your country, and if you have US TIN.
Once you have finished filling in your tax information, go back to your account page and save your Amazon Kindle direct publishing account information.
That’s it; you have completed your Amazon account KDP setting.
To publish your book, log in to Amazon and click on add ebook.
